The Wayne City Board of Education held its regular July meeting on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
Jeff Taylor, the newly assigned SRO for Wayne City CUSD, was present to introduce himself to the Board and visitors.
The Board approved consent agenda items including minutes from the June meeting, eliminating closed session minutes from January 2023, entering an Educational Affiliation Agreement with SIU-C, and a School-Family Liaison job description.
The Board acted on the following personnel items. Misty Boyd was hired as a long term substitute for the part-time art position. Justin Slover was hired as the JH Boys JV Basketball Coach, while Brianna Anderson was named HS Head Softball Coach. Assistant HS Softball Coach will be Marcie Caldwell. Janice McCormick was named School-Family Liaison.
The Board approved a 3 year agreement with Bushue HR, Inc for human resource, risk management, and insurance consulting. PRESS Policy update Issue 115 and the new policy manual were approved. The treasure's bond for school treasurer, Angie Kelly, was renewed. Finally, the Board awarded the outdoor classroom/play area project to Shores Builders out of Centralia.
The next regularly scheduled meeting is Thursday, August 15, at 6:00 pm in the administrative conference room.
