The Wayne City Board of Education held a Truth-in-Taxation Hearing prior to the regular December Meeting at 5:45 pm.

The Wayne City Board of Education held its regular December meeting on Thursday, December 19, 2024. Administration shared information with the Board that included Christmas activities, Holiday Tournament information and the Special Olympic State Bowling competition where Jaycee Youngblood and Kasen Thomason both placed 6th.

The Board approved consent agenda items including minutes from the November meeting, eliminating closed session minutes from June 2023, PRESS Policies 4:70, 5:130, 5:200 and 6:140, and field trips.

In personnel items, Misty Boyd was hired as a long term substitute teacher. The Board approved the 2024 Tax Levy for Wayne City CUSD #100. Fuels bids for CY 25 were accepted from SynEnergy Partners. Membership to the SIJHSAA was renewed and PRESS Policy Update 117 was approved as presented. In other action, the Board approved opting out of the College and Career Pathway Endorsement program. A Resolution in support of Vision 2030 was also approved. Finally, the FY 24 Audit completed by Dennis Rose and Associates was approved.

The next regularly scheduled meeting is Thursday, January 16, at 6:00 pm in the administrative conference room
