WCGS - Get geared up for the 14 days of Christmas starting Dec. 1st!

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) announced that Wayne City High School is the 2023 Recognition of Excellence from the ISAC for excellence in supporting the Class of 2023 students through the financial aid process. WCHS guidance counselor, Ruth Kissner, will receive an award banner to display, along with recognition for the class. The WCHS guidance department has received the Recognition of Excellence each year since the program started.

There will be tutoring today, Monday, 11/20, after school. There will be NO tutoring Tuesday, 11/21, due to early dismissal!
Had a great day Thursday at Battle of the Classes! The SENIORS came out victorious!






The Lady Indians defeated Elverado in their home opener. It was great hearing the pep band play at halftime.










In honor of School Board Members Day yesterday 11/15/2023, WCCUSD would like to thank our board members for their dedicated leadership in education and continuing service to the children of this community.

Latest news for the high school boys basketball schedule:
The Wayne City Indians game scheduled for Tuesday, November 21 at Mt. Carmel has been rescheduled to Saturday, January 13 with a JV start of 2 p.m. This is because the Mt. Carmel football team is in the football semifinals for state.
The game at DuQuoin for February 2, 2024 was not confirmed between the two schools and will not be played.
The Wayne City Indians will now host the Sparta Bulldogs on Tuesday, Novemeber 21, with a JV tip time of 6 p.m. This will be the Indians' home opener. Hope to see you there!

FCCLA attended the Regional meeting at SIU-C on October 25.

The Lady Braves beat Centralia 48-16 Friday at the Summersville Shootout. Lydia was the player of the game with 21 points.
